Yang Family Style Tai Chi Class

Yang family style T'ai Chi has a history of being associated with longevity. It has been noted that Yang family style T'ai Chi practitioners live 30% longer years than non-practitioners.

The movements are slow, gentle, and attractive; reminding one of running water.  For those desiring to learn T'ai Chi for the first time, "8 forms" is a great way to start.

This class will explore the health benefits and skills of practicing T'ai Chi: such as breathing and meditation

Tai Chi Class curriculum

Week One: Introduce Tai Chi: History, Theory and Philosophy; Three elements: movements, breathing and Meditation: How it can maintain health for people.

Week Two: Introduce Breathing: Theory and Skills: Movement: Juan Hong Si

Week Three: Breathing: Skills: Movement: review Juan Hong Si; Learn Lou Xi Yao Bu( left arm, right arm and steps)

Week Four: Breathing: Skills(movement and breathing relationship) Movement: review Juan Hong Si; Learn Lou Xi Yao Bu(whole movement)

Week Five: Review: movement and breathing relationship; Lou Xi Yao Bu. Learning: Juan Hong Si with Breathing; new movement Ye Ma Feng Zhong.

Week Six: Review: movement and breathing relationship; Juan Hong Si with breathing; Lou Xi Yao Bu and Ye Ma Feng Zhong. Learning: Lou Xi Yao Bu with Breathing; new movement Yun Shou(left hand, right hand and steps);

Week Seven: Review: movement and breathing relationship; Juan Hong Si with breathing; Lou Xi Yao Bu with breathing; and Ye Ma Feng Zhong. Learning: Introduce Tai Chi Meditation and skills; Yun Shou(whole movement); Ye Ma Feng Zhong with breathing; New movement: Jing Ji Du Li; introduce human balance system

Week Eight: Review : movement and breathing relationship with Meditation skills; Juan Hong Si , Lou Xi Yao Bu and Ye Ma Feng Zhong with breathing. Yun Shou and Jing Ji Du Li; Learning : Movement Breathing and meditation: Juan Hong Si , Lou Xi Yao Bu ; New movement: Den Jiao; introduce idea of balance improvements.

Week Nine: Review : movement, breathing and Meditation skills; Juan Hong Si and Lou Xi Yao Bu with meditation; Ye Ma Feng Zhong with breathing. Yun Shou, Jing Ji Du Li and Den Jiao; Learning : Movement Breathing and meditation: Ye Ma Feng Zhong; New movement: Pen Lu Ji An(arm, steps); introduce reduce lower back pain method.

Week Ten: Review : movement, breathing and Meditation skills; Juan Hong Si , Lou Xi Yao Bu and Ye Ma Feng Zhong with meditation; Yun Shou with breathing. Jing Ji Du Li, Den Jiao and Pen Lu Ji An Learning : Movement Breathing and meditation: Yun Shou; Jing Ji Du Li and Den Jiao with breathing; New movement:Shi Zi Shou;

Week Eleven: Review : movement, breathing and Meditation skills; Juan Hong Si , Lou Xi Yao Bu, Ye Ma Feng Zhong and Yun Shou with meditation; with breathing. Jing Ji Du Li and Den Jiao with breathing; Pen Lu Ji An and Shi Zi Shou; Learning : Movement Breathing and meditation: Jing Ji Du Li and Den Jiao; Shi Zi Shou with breathing;

Week Twelve: Review : movement, breathing and Meditation skills; Juan Hong Si , Lou Xi Yao Bu, Ye Ma Feng Zhong , Yun Shou and Jing Ji Du Li and Den Jiao with meditation; with breathing. Jing Ji Du Li and Den Jiao with breathing; Pen Lu Ji An and Shi Zi Shou; Learning : Movement Breathing and meditation: Pen Lu Ji An and Shi Zi Shou; Introduce how Tai Chi can make whole body Qi flowing.

Week Thirteen: Review : movement, breathing and Meditation skills: whole form; Learning : Introduce how Tai Chi can maintain good health.

Week Fourteen: Review : movement, breathing and Meditation skills: whole form; Learning : Introduce what is an individual method for practice Tai Chi to maintain good health.
